‘Castable Attachments’

RHEIN 83 products do not contain complicated mechanisms or complex formula. All products are provided at reasonable costs, are quickly assembled, reliable, functional and simple.

The principles behind the RHEIN 83 System are Simplicity and Spherical Retention.

The diversity of application to the myriad of treatment modalities that the spherical retention concept offers is readily recognised in the treatment of the partially edentate and totally edentate individual.

The unique features of the RHEIN 83 System are versatility and adaptability of the spherical concept and related products to prostheses supported by the remaining dentition and implant treatments.

RHEIN 83 unique Sphere attachment system for the retention of removable prostheses incorporates the use of prefabricated castable plastic patterns.This system is designed as two separate entities referred to as the OT CAP castable attachments and OT BOX castable system AS FOLLOWS;

OT CAP - CASTABLE ATTACHMENTS:

The OT CAP components of this duel castable system consist of prefabricated castable plastic SPHERES and retentive CAPS. The Spheres and the corresponding retentive caps come in two sizes identified as REGULAR with a 2.5mm diameter and MICRO with a 1.8mm diameter.

OT BOX - CASTABLE SYSTEM:

The OT BOX components of this duel system consist of prefabricated castable patterns designed to be assembled to form the retention box for the retentive caps and fabrication of framework components.

The OT BOX system is designed as a two layered prefabricated castable plastic assembly. The bottom layer containing a smaller diameter than the top layer. The purpose of this arrangement is to provide a locking method (BOX) for retaining the retentive cap.

It should be noted that at times, the lower part of this arrangement may be used without incorporating the top member.

OT CAP & OT BOX:

All prefabricated castable plastic components and retentive caps are colour coded to facilitate use. The regular size castable plastic spheres are green in colour and the corresponding OT BOX prefabricated castable plastic pattern contains a green base (lower component) and an orange upper component. The positioning ring is also green.

The Micro sized prefabricated castable plastic spheres is red in colour and the corresponding OT BOX prefabricated castable plastic pattern contains a red base (lower component) and a yellow upper component. The positioning ring is also red.

Titanium SPHERO BLOCK & SPHERO FLEX:( pre-fabricated)

Two types of titanium attachments are availiable : SPHERO BLOCK & SPHERO FLEX; the former has a fixed sphere and the latter a swivel sphere which can rotate up to 8 degrees on the prosthesis, thus avoiding or reducing stresses which non-parallelism normally causes. These attachments are designed for over-dentures only.
